Zoom meetings are not end-to-end encrypted and exposes users’ email address and photos.
The nationwide lockdown, video conferencing has become the new way of having meetings. One popular app to host virtual meetings on is Zoom. A recent report, however, suggests that Zoom might have some serious security flaws. The platform’s video meetings are not end-to-end encrypted, leading to a serious risk of users’ data being exposed. Zoom claims that their entire platform is end-to-end encrypted, but a recent investigation found that only its text messaging side is encrypted and secure. Personal data like email addresses and photos are, however, at risk for those using Zoom for video calling purposes.
