When the taxman auctioned off his expensive furnishings in Joburg last week, it stopped media star Somizi Mhlongo from living his dream.

Legend Manqele, who produced his reality show, Living the Dream with Somizi, has also been ordered by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) to pay R1.5 million of his and ex-husband Mohale’s royalties into a SARS account rather than their lawyer’s account, as they had instructed earlier this month.

Sandton North sheriff Kgomotso Mphahlele said in a notice of sale in execution that she had put Somizi’s furniture up for auction to retrieve the monies he owed for failing to pay at least R3.5 million in tax debt he owes since 2014.

According to the notice, the products were sold after SARS acquired a judgement in the Johannesburg High Court on November 5, 2015.

According to the notice, “the movable property listed below will be sold in execution on May 18 2022 at 11am at 24 Rhodes Avenue Kensington B, Randburg 2125 to the highest bidder in pursuance of a high court judgement… on November 5 2015 for Somizi Mhlongo and a warrant of execution issued against movable property pursuant thereto,” “the movable property listed below will be sold in execution on May 18 2022 at 11am at 24 Rhodes Avenue Kensington B, Randburg

“A Samsung washing machine, a white sculpture (Guman Head), a Le Creuset bowl, three plastic bar seats, two red human sculptures, a Hisense television set with a remote, a Smeg dishwasher, two brass painted coffee tables, one Carrol” were among the things auctioned off.

“A Boyes knife set with stand, a Carrol Boyes bowl, five different Le Creuset pots, a Gold Air gas heater, a DeLonghi oil heater, a Samsung fridge, a silver kitchen bowl, three glass vases, eight cushions, a sleeper couch, a wooden TV stand with drawers, dining chairs, and a table and knife set with stand,” the notice states.

Somizi and Mohale married in 2020 but divorced last year after allegations of physical violence and counter-accusations.

The couple sold their broadcasting rights to Bar Leader TV, which is owned by Manqele, so that the event could be shown on DStv’s Mzansi Magic channel.

Mohale’s lawyer, Vanessa Da Silva Faria Fernihough of Ulrich Roux and Associates, addressed Manqele a letter demanding that he transfer the money into their trust account or risk a lawsuit if he didn’t.

Mhlongo and Mohale, who were represented by their firm, Elahom Events, inked an agreement with Manqele’s company to shoot and broadcast their wedding for an R1.5-million fee, according to the lawyers’ letter, which we have seen.

According to the lawyer, they wrote Manqele a letter in July last year appealing with him to pay their clients, but he told them he needed certain documents from SARS and proof from his team before he could answer.

SARS had instructed Manqele not to pay Somizi, according to Manqele.

After reading a report on Manqele’s feud with the ex-couple, SARS wrote Manqele a letter on May 12 ordering him to deposit the money into its account.

If Manqele had paid the money, SARS requested proof of payment.

Manqele confirmed that he received a letter from SARS instructing him to transfer the money into its coffers and that he did so by depositing the funds in the tax collector’s account.

Somizi has not commented

Mohale remains silent.

While South Africa and the rest of the world work to recover from the Covid-19 global epidemic, a new crisis has emerged in Europe in the shape of monkeypox, leaving many in Africa fearful.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the monkeypox outbreak has infected more than 100 people in about 15 countries including Britain, Portugal, Spain and the US.

With the addition of the monkeypox virus and several other disease outbreaks, such as acute hepatitis in children and Ebola, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the world was not over the pandemic, which has claimed six million lives, during his address to the UN’s World Health Assembly in Geneva on Sunday.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) in South Africa reported that there were no cases of monkeypox in the country, but that milder cases could go unnoticed, posing a danger of person-to-person transmission. “The consequences for South Africa are that the potential of monkeypox importation is a reality,” says NICD executive director Professor Adrian Puren. “Lessons learned from Covid-19 have demonstrated that outbreaks in another region of the world can quickly become a global issue.”

On the fourth day of the libel trial between Johnny Depp and his former wife, Amber Heard, a series of photos of Johnny Depp with apparent cuts and bruises to his face were shown to the court.

According to Court TV, which is broadcasting the trial live from the Fairfax County District Courthouse in Virginia, Depp is expected to testify on Tuesday.

Depp’s security guard Sean Bett, who told the jury he insisted on taking the images “as proof in case Ms Heard tried to make charges against Depp,” took the photos on his phone and shared them with the court.

Mr Bett testified that while he never witnessed any physical violence between Depp and Heard, he did witness Depp’s injuries on multiple occasions. The photographs presented before the court were taken in March and December of 2015.

Mr Bett also mentioned Depp’s infamous March 2015 trip to Australia, during which an incident injured the tip of his finger, necessitating a skin graft and a surgery to insert two pins to close the wound.

According to Depp’s side, the actor’s hand was hurt when Heard hurled a vodka bottle at him, while Heard’s team claims the actor injured his own hand while bashing a phone against the wall.

The following are some of the major takeaways from the fourth day of testimony:

  • ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and chronic Reflux were among the diseases cited by Depp’s private doctor.
  • Heard has been described as “especially sensitive” to Depp’s behavior due to her upbringing in a home where substance misuse was prevalent.
  • The court was informed that a chef noticed the tip of Depp’s finger “in the cooking area” during a discussion about an alleged altercation in Australia in 2015.
  • Depp’s former nurse also claims she assisted in the search for Depp’s finger, calling the house “a mess.”
  • According to reports, Depp was subjected to a lot of “unwanted stress” as a result of his “toxic” relationship with Heard.

The Australian Event

Evidence about the alleged Australian occurrence – which was depicted as “a three-day hostage circumstance” by Heard amid the London slander trial of 2020 – was given by both Depp’s private doctor, Specialist Kipper, and his previous private nurse, Debbie Lloyd,

Heard alleges that amid this time Depp both physically and sexually manhandled her – claims Depp emphatically denies. Depp’s private doctor, Specialist Kipper, told the court he had been in Australia at the time of the affirmed occurrence, seeing “blood” and “glass” within the house and taking Depp to the clinic for crisis treatment after at first treating the wound. During his evidence, the specialist also recorded his diagnoses of Depp which included ADHD (consideration shortfall hyperactivity clutter), bipolar clutter, discouragement, sleep deprivation, substance reliance and persistent reflux.

Afterward within the day’s session, Depp’s previous private nurture Debbie Lloyd too depicted the scene, saying she too had made an attempt to seek for the actor’s fingertip, and depicting the house as “a mess” with “writing on the wall and a crushed tv set”.

The Trial is still ongoing with extreme accusations and more wild stories!

The outcome of Celeb City’s battle between actor and singer NaakMusiQ and rapper Cassper Nyovest at Sun City on Saturday triggered a social media frenzy.

While most professional bouts in men’s boxing are limited to 12 rounds, each lasting three minutes, the two stars battled for five rounds, with NaakMusiQ emerging victorious when two judges scored in his favour and the other in Cassper’s.

Both performers ducked punches and clinched their fists in front of the audience.

NaakMusiQ and Cassper had to fight with 16-ounce gloves, which president of Boxing SA’s sanctioning committee Sakhiwe Sodo told TshisaLIVE during a press conference ahead of the event was done on purpose to keep them safe. Sodo joked, “We wanted them to be exhausted so they wouldn’t damage themselves.”

“They wanted to wear 10-ounce gloves, but we insisted on sticking to our chosen governance guidelines for this.”

The 16-ounce gloves are typically utilised for sparring due to their big size, which can aid shield the boxer’s head or body when guarding.

Sodo stated that the primary goal was to secure the safety of both men while still maintaining the sport’s essential principles.

Some responses on Social Media were conflicted and some felt the fight was fixed or unfair saying:

With some saying

“I disagree with the results… Cassper Nyovest was cheated.”

“No ways guys, I am no Cassper fan but he landed the better punches. Ay no Casper Nyovest won for me.”

Believe it or not, South Africans are gaining support. And if there is a victory, it is a national victory.

As in the case of DJ Black Coffee, who won his first Grammy Award at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The Electronic / House DJ has been nominated for Best Dance / Electronic Music Albums on the acclaimed album “Subconsciously”. He competed with artists such as Illenium, Major Lazer, Marshmello, Sylvan Esso and Ten City.

Coffee received his award with his son Esona and had the opportunity to provide inspirational words to children in South Africa and the continent.

“African kids who are watching, they may think they don’t stand a chance to get on a global stage like this. I want to just say to them that it is possible. The award is not just for me, and it’s not just about music alone, this is about anything that they want to do. This Grammy is a symbol that it’s possible to get here,” stated Coffee

The 94th Academy Awards ceremony this year was hosted by Chris Rock and it will be one to go down in television history.

During his hosting, Jada Pinkett Smith expressed displeasure at Chris Rock’s joke about her shaved head as he presented the award for best documentary. He said, “I love you, I can’t wait until “G.I. Jane 2″ comes out.”

A camera cut to Pinkett Smith, who rolled her eyes. “That was a nice one,” Rock remarked, appearing to acknowledge that Smith didn’t seem to enjoy the joke. Pinkett Smith is open about her struggle with alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss, which had led to the reaction by Will Smith.

In the moments following, Smith walked on stage toward Rock, who was holding his hands behind his back when he struck him.

“Wow! Wow! Will Smith just smacked the sh*t out of me,” Rock said as the crowd laughed, thinking it was a joke. “Oh, it was a G.I. Jane joke,” he said, referring to the 1997 film G.I. Jane in which actress Demi Moore shaved her head.

Immediately following, Smith made one of the most repeated phrases in Oscar history when he said to Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth.” Rock replied, “I will. That was the greatest evening in television history.” Afterwhich Smith repeated the phrase louder.

Smith apologised to the Academy and his fellow nominees during his acceptance speech for his first ever Oscar for his performance in King Richard but failed to apologise to Rock when he accepted the award.

Richard Williams was a fierce protector of his family, Smith said. His final statement before taking his seat was: “I hope the Academy will invite me back.”

More like Messy Famous & African

Was the show the actual reason for Nadia Nakai and Vic Mensa’s breakup? During the show there was a lot of controversy when it came to Diamond and Vic Mensa. It seemed that her man wasn’t really her man at the time. She had explained how she did not know how to navigate relationships due to her father abandoning her at a young age. She admits that this drama is consistent when she is with a man due to her lack of confidence in men. She does not see them as replaceable.

Not only can we acknowledge how much hurt African men put women through? Annie Macaulay-Idibia first child was Tu faces (Husband) fifth child? As she disclosed in an interview in a one on one session.

She says,

“When you meet someone and then you know them first. But when you wake up, two different people are having a baby for him,” the model told her co-stars before breaking down in tears.

There are more scandalous events happening and we are definitely here for it but we think we can do without the male cast breaking these beautiful woman.

More like mega crazy? The rumours started around November that Nadia Nakai and AKA Worldwide had been dating after fans started noticing the synchronised Instagram story posts.

The “Yatch” rapper received a Rolex from her “Secret Santa,” who is said to be Supa Mega, last Christmas.

AKA and Nadia had a baecation earlier this year, and there’s nothing like time away for a couple in love to enjoy each other’s company.

The couple is now celebrating their love publicly however a few people do not agree with how quickly AKA moved on from his ex-fiance Nellie Tembe who had passed away on April 11 2021 with only 6 months later AKA had started his new romance? Leaving quite a few people deeply disturbed.

The two rappers sealed the deal with a public kiss on instagram and we are wishing them all the best!
