After renovations, it will feature a lot more tech and new departments, like Zara Beauty.

Zara is planning on revamping its popular branch at the V&A Waterfront. They are starting renovations with the aim of turning the flagship store into a new concept shopping experience they have been working on for some time.

One of the major improvements is that the in-store experience will be fully integrated with online shopping on zara.com. Zara is promising a “high quality, digitalised and differentiated store”.

In terms of design, the V&A Waterfront store is being designed according to the brand’s new global concept, which highlights flowing curved lines and sleek white surfaces with pockets of greenery.

Further to this, they are also opening new departments in the store, like Zara Beauty. In this section, customers will be able to browse items like perfumes, makeup and more. Zara Beauty has been a fixed part of Zara stores overseas for some time.

The upgrades are also in line with their omnichannel model.

Zara’s omnichannel model allows customers to shop as they prefer. Zara has eight stores in South Africa and has also been selling online in the country at zara.com/za since 2019.

“Customers have multiple options, from visiting the store and buying online, asking for home-delivery, making exchanges or refunds at a store, and sending online orders from stores thanks to the integrated stock management system. This technology integration is possible because of the complete implementation of the Radio Frequency Identification system,” Zara said in a statement.

The new store is set to open late in 2021.
