Apparently, they want users to stop recycling content.

Instagram has said that it will no longer allow users to highlight reels that feature a TikTok watermark. A spokesperson for Instagram told The Verge that this new move is part of their goal to ensure users keep on creating new, unique content on their platform. Apparently, they don’t want users to recycle old content from other platforms. This could also be a result of pure business rivalry as Instagram and TikTok are similar social media platforms. Instagram won’t be promoting reels that feature watermarks, according to their new uploading guidelines.
