If everything goes according to plan, the devices should arrive in January 2021.

NSFAS needs to make a total of 730 000 laptops available to students who depend on the scheme to successfully complete their studies. Earlier this year, NSFAS failed to find a supplier for the much-needed devices. Now, a new tender process has started and if all goes smoothly, the 730 000 computers should arrive in South Africa in January 2021. The new tender calls for less tech-heavy laptops and vendors must be able to prove that laptop bags going out with each device are made in SA.
